Standing with the marginalized is not a political thing; it’s a JESUS thing. And it’s a thing that our little team is repenting of not doing better for the brothers and sisters it so devastatingly affects. 💔
Orphan Warriors, we in the adoption community — many of us raising sweet superheroes of a different culture, country and race — cannot afford to be silent on the topic. And we can’t afford to sit on the sidelines of the conversation.
What I’m learning as our little team is reading voraciously — both the New Testament and books that share voices that we desperately need to hear, no matter how uncomfortable they make us — is that the first step to SPEAKING is actually HUMBLING ourselves and LISTENING.
So that’s exactly what we’re going to do.
We’re taking this last summer before the oldest superhero enters high school and the youngest enters kindergarten to become STUDENTS.
To LISTEN to our brothers and sisters of EVERY race.
To LEARN from their life experiences.
To ask how we can truly be this ONE BEAUTIFUL BODY that God calls us to be.
Until then, we’ll be taking a hiatus from the talking and putting a pause button on the blog. ⏸
There are other voices far more important than ours that we all need in this season.
His speaking into our own hearts being the very first. ❤️
Brothers and sisters we have not loved better, we are so sorry.
We love you.
We see you.
And we are listening. 👂
